Walk at Torrey Pines

With so much rain recently, we thought the wild flowers would be out, so the family unit decided to take a hike. Many others must have had the same thought becuase the upper parking lot at Torrey Pines was full. I was very impressed with Miles as he walked up the long route from the lower parking lot and then all the way to the flat rock and back to the car. (Annie rode in the backpack while hiking up the hill).

Most of the flowers were very tiny like the "belly flowers" in the desert. This type of bush was flowering now.

The swell was realy coming in. The sets were about 1' overhead and 12 to 14 second period.

The recent rains left the cliff face with a very nice texture.

Miles thought that this was like Saturn.

At the bottom of the cliff is the flat rock that is slightly exposed at high tide and has many interesting discoveries at low tide.

You can see where a section of the bluff failed with a pile of rock / sand at the base of the cliff. This beach is only safely accessable at low tide.
